Technical Interface Consultant – Offshore Grid Projects (m/f/d)

to support the

Ostwind 4

and

Bornholm Energy Island

offshore grid connection projects, starting

1. April 2026

, for an estimated duration of

24 months

.

This freelance role is onshore-based in Berlin (55 % remote, 40 % onsite, 5 % others), operating on a Monday to Friday schedule with potential weekend assignments depending on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

As part of your role, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
?Provide technical coordination support to the Technical Project Manager and Package Managers throughout all phases of project execution Coordinate and align engineering activities across all project packages and sub-packages in close cooperation with discipline engineers and sub-package managers Monitor, track and drive the resolution of technical and interface-related issues to avoid delays and disruptions to project execution Establish, maintain and control interface management instruments, including Interface Register, Interface Matrix, and Interface Issue Log Ensure a contract-compliant functional design across all packages, with particular focus on wind farm and offshore interfaces Identify, assess and document critical interface topics, technical dependencies and associated risks Prepare technical reports, overviews, and decision-support documentation for project development Provide technical input to contract drafting and negotiations regarding scope definition, interface responsibilities and contractor liabilities

Requirements

Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a comparable technical qualification with proven project experience in the offshore wind or offshore energy sector Several years of experience in technical coordination and interface management Proven experience across both planning and execution phases of offshore projects Solid background in offshore wind farm systems (OSS, export cables, onshore connections) Experience in reviewing and validating technical documentation and method statements Strong understanding of technical contractual scopes and interface responsibilities Very good command of English (minimum level C1 or comparable)
