The contract will start on 15 January 2026 and ends 15 June 2026, for 8 hours/week. This course is the first edition of this multi-campus course organised by CIVICA - The European University of Social Sciences, gathering ten leading European higher education institutions in social sciences. The course critically explores the main policy challenges in achieving “net zero” greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and is designed and taught jointly by a team of professors from the different partners of the alliance. The course will be delivered synchronously across all the campuses of the CIVICA consortium as a series of live on-line lectures. On top of the lectures, the course spurs students to work in teams across countries and disciplines, with the aim of completing a final capstone project assignment related to specific and concrete policy challenges. Moreover, students at the Hertie School will participate in weekly labs taught by a Teaching Assistant, where they will discuss the contents of the lectures.
Your tasks:
Attend weekly lectures
Prepare and lead discussions on all course topics during the weekly seminars
Facilitate coordination across the network
Assist with the proctoring and grading of mid-term exams
Support and advise capstone project teams from CIVICA member universities and grade some of the final capstone assignments
General student support
Your profile:
A good knowledge of sustainability and climate policy
Excellent pedagogical skills and the ability to run interactive discussion groups
A Master’s degree in the Social Sciences (preferred that candidates will be pursuing a PhD)
