BioNTech currently runs a variety of automation and digitalization projects in the field of Scientific R&D, including ELN, LIMS and Analytics Platform. As part of our growth activities of our digital solutions more R&D laboratories and service units are going to be onboarded with our central R&D Lab Information Management System (LIMS), while some lab sites already run with our platform and need our operations support and maintenance for the LIMS. We continuously increase the scope of digital solutions to support our R&D processes and digitalize laboratory workflows at its best.



As System Engineer you are part of our agile team, which develops, deploys and runs the LabVantage LIMS platform for R&D as an essential part of our digital R&D echo system. As part of a scrum team, you regularly take part in our scrum events and implement changes to the LabVantage Core LIMS according to the requirements of the laboratories.

Your main responsibilities:

With your strong technical domain knowledge in R&D Lab Systems, you collaborate cross-functionally with technical teams throughout the application and project lifecycle You bring in experience in agile development (scrum methodology) and use your profound expertise in LabVantage LIMS configuration and customization techniques You configure LIMS solutions and lab device interfaces based on user requirements As contact person for laboratories, business analysts and process owners you work on dedicated lab use cases You ensure consistent processes across the R&D application landscape You contribute to sprint goals and ensure successful delivery of implementation projects

What you have to offer:

Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering or equivalent experience in pharma, operations in IT or process management At least 3 years of relevant job experience with domain expertise in LabVantage LIMS platform implementation Profound development skills for LabVantage LIMS configurations (Java, Jscript, Groovy, SQL, REST Web Services API, etc.) Good knowledge of database concepts (SQL, data definition, etc.) would be beneficial Good knowledge of common development tools and frameworks (GitHub, Eclipse, Jira) as well as technical affinity to identify suitable technical solutions for complex lab workflows Administrative knowledge regarding AWS Cloud Services and Cloud hosting of LIMS would be beneficial Good knowledge of instrument connections as well as integration expertise with other systems running in the laboratories High communication skills in English and preferably in German
