Munich Re`s Group Sustainability Department shapes the Sustainability Strategy for the entire Group and advises the ESG Committee of the Board of Management on strategic sustainability topics. The department oversees ESG governance across the Group, sustainability performance in Own Operations and the integration of ESG criteria into (Re)insurance and Investments. As part of our process development, we are seeking support to implement data analysis and automation use cases.
Through diverse projects and activities, we embed climate, social, and governance considerations into our business and Own Operations in close collaboration with stakeholders across business units and global locations. We also position Munich Re strategically on ESG topics, engaging in discussions with internal stakeholders (e.g., ESG Committee, business units) and external partners (e.g., clients, industry associations, ESG rating agencies, NGOs).
We are looking for a highly motivated intern with a passion for sustainability. The ideal candidate will be a numbers-cruncher driven to work with minimal oversight on automation, analytics and visualization projects.
Your Job
Analysis and visualization of sustainability data
Supporting automation projects in the area of sustainability data and reporting
Development and maintenance of dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel
Conducting research and preparing engaging presentations for internal stakeholders
Assuming general administrative and coordinating tasks
Your Profile
Passion for Sustainability
Master’s studies (or final year of Bachelor’s studies) in Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
Experience with analytics, reporting, data mining, or data visualization
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Power BI
Fluent written and spoken English
Additional experience in no code/low code software tools for data visualization, data engineering, data science and AI is a plus
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach, committed to continuous learning, and possessing a positive attitude
Full time position in Munich for at least 3 months, 6 months preferred, starting in Q1 2026
Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
