Our primary school offers a high-quality education programme for over 340 children aged 6 to 11. It supports each student’s personal, social, academic, physical and emotional development in an internationally oriented context. Your tasks and responsibilities
As the Supply Teacheryou will cover in classes in primary school for colleagues who are absent from school. Sometimes these will be planned absences for example when teachers attend professional development courses and sometimes they will be last minute when a teacher is sick.
Create a safe and stimulating learning environment in which the students can discover and develop their intellectual, physical, social and creative potential
Promote the motto of our school “learning to be a citizen of the world”, so that students develop the skills to think and act with openness to the perspectives, values and traditions of other individuals, cultures and communities, and thus develop an international understanding
Collaboratively plan, adapt, deliver and assess work for your students together with your colleagues in the primary music department
Deliver relevant, current and challenging German lessons that will allow students to make outstanding progress and grow in confidence as they prepare for middle school
Provide authentic, formative feedback through which your students can improve their skills, knowledge and understanding plus develop their higher order thinking
Communicate clearly and regularly with parents to keep them informed about class activities and their child’s achievement and progress as well as options beyond our primary programme
Develop best practice in the primary school through sharing expertise, experience and resources
Work as a contributing member of the primary school to ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place and delivered uniformly
Work as a contributing member of Leipzig International School to ensure a cohesive approach to learning
Your profile
A University degree in Teaching German
Experience in teaching teaching German as additional Language (DAZ)
Valid Teaching License
High competency in written and spoken English
Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as the use of IT and new technologies
Evidence of continuous professional development
Proven ability as an excellent music teacher preferably in primary school sector
Experience of working in an internationally-minded and diverse school community is preferred
Experience with an international curricula is preferred
