The Tesla Direct Procurement team is looking to hire a skilled Supply Chain Manager (SCM) to manage the purchasing and lifecycle management of a group of components in the drive train. You are involved in the development process for new products from an early stage and you are the link between external suppliers and internal customers. You work closely with the Supply Chain Managers in the US and China to align on global supply chain/procurement strategies. You are also the reference person for cross functional teams on product group(s) you manage.

What You'll Do

Owner of RFQ's - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented. Ensures Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated and appropriately before business is initiated Drive piece price and tooling negotiation process to ensure that Tesla’s commodity pricing met Best-In-Class expectations, while meeting Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality, in addition to driving continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad-hoc price negotiations. Responsible for all commercial aspects of product portfolio and working on cost optimization and working cross functionally on quality improvements and part shortages Be the key local procurement/supply chain contact to internal as well as external stakeholders and lead coordination of all local cross functional activities, including but not limiting to new supplier introduction, new program launches and engineering changes. Responsible for localization/sourcing/resourcing suppliers/components and program management of supplier development activities as well as new supplier launch activities. Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews; Participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners; participate in Design for Manufacturability reviews with Engineering partners and prospective suppliers, and drive decisions from a cost perspective Evaluate start-to-end supply chain flow and present recommendations that will result in cost savings or avoidance, with consideration of all aspects within regional supply chain flow Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications as well as basic knowledge of manufacturing process controls and quality assurance for their commodity space, comfortable communicating with technical stakeholders both internally and externally





What You'll Bring

You live and breathe vehicle parts procurement! You have a drive to make sure that all assigned programs are fully under control for Gigafactory Berlin set-up and growth. You possess a higher vocational or university qualification in a subject such as automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or business management, or equivalent experience 1-3+ years of experience in supply chain management, or commodity management in automotive is preferred Technical & commercial understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes Excellent negotiator; Experience with mechanical and/or electrical engineering concepts related to the commodity and ability to generate bottom-up should costs based on the understanding of manufacturing process Experience in purchasing of Powertrain components is a plus You are fluent in English and/or German
