Fraunhofer IPA is an institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation. In current research projects at Fraunhofer IPA, modern machine learning methods are being used in applications for industry 4.0. You will learn about the possibilities and limits of industrial image processing and work on the development of new solutions. You will familiarize yourself with established solutions as well as the latest technologies and trends in AI-based image processing. The work at Fraunhofer is characterized by a wide range of different projects. The focus is on transferring the latest methods and findings from fundamental research to industrial applications.

During your time here, you will have the opportunity to experience the pipeline of an ML project, from data collection to model training, evaluating results, and realizing a demo.
Was Sie mitbringen

• Enrolled in Bachelor or Master program (German Hochschule/university) in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, etc.
• Interest in image processing, programming, and machine learning
• Programming skills (e.g. Python, Linux, GUI, Github, …)
• Ability to work independently and show initiative
• Good communication and information skills, goal-oriented and structured way of working
• Knowledge of English
• Interest in long-term employment
