Our business unit "Multifunctional Radio Frequency and Radar Systems" (MFR) has four departments which cover the research and implementation of modern radio frequency sensors for military radar, detection and communication applications. The "Cognitive Methods" department deals with research topics at the interface between information processing and high-frequency sensor technology. It develops machine learning methods as well as artificial intelligence methods for the optimal adaptation of a radar or radio frequency system to the environment and a largely autonomous operation. In this context, it is of great importance to evaluate our applications and approaches with experimental demonstrators.

What you will do

Your tasks will depend on your knowledge and interests and the field of application in our department - but you can be sure that they will always be hands-on and give you experience in research projects with well-known academic and industrial partners.
  • Support in the development of cognitive methods
  • Support and further development of simulation environments
  • Support with documentation
What you bring to the table
  • Enrolled student in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field of study
  • Programming skills in Java and Python
  • Interest in topics such as high frequency physics, radar technology, space observation, autonomous driving, sensor technology, etc.
  • Interest in programming, research and scientific work
  • If applicable, first practical experience in a research environment or in industry

Depending on the employment relationship, remuneration is in accordance with the general works agreement on the employment of assistant staff or in accordance with the federal guideline on internship remuneration.
The position is temporary - 3, 6 or 12 months, as desired.
The weekly working hours will be agreed upon individually.
