Student Assistant - Centre for Fundamental Rights


The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. The school offers master’s programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research. Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.






The Centre for Fundamental Rights at the Hertie School seeks to hire a

Student Assistant (gn)

on a part-time basis (10 h/w). The contract shall commence as of 01 September 2025 and will initially be limited until 31 December 2025 (with the possibility of extension). The Centre for Fundamental Rights at the Hertie School is an academic centre of excellence for research, teaching and public engagement on contemporary and emerging challenges to the protection of fundamental rights in domestic, regional and global law and governance. As part of its outreach mission, the Centre hosts research, public, and student-facing events, engaging with diverse stakeholders. We are currently seeking to hire a student assistant to support the administrative team in these activities.


Your tasks:


Support the organisation and execution of activities at the Centre for Fundamental Rights, including research, public and student-facing events. Assist in organising internal seminars and meetings. Provide IT support for online, hybrid and on-site events, including support of centre-led teaching. Update and maintain information regarding events on the Centre website. Assist in event registration management. Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.

Your profile:


Enrolled as a student at a German University Reliable and Independent working style Skilled in the use of Microsoft office applications as well as in event management tools (such as Mailjet, Typo3, Canva, Zkipster) Excellent communication and writing proficiency in English. German language skills are an advantage. Interest in the research and outreach activities of the Centre for Fundamental Rights
