WHAT'S THE ROLE?


We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to join our Product Cloud team, where you will play a key role in developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud services that support Fleet and After Market capabilities for Hilti products. In this position, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across our business and IT to transform essential product data into cloud-ready services — powering innovative applications across our global ecosystem.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?


As a Software Engineer in the Product Cloud team, you will be responsible for implementing cloud-based applications and microservices that bring Hilti’s digital vision to life. You will design and build backend services using Java with Spring Boot, and leverage cloud technologies (primarily AWS) to deliver robust, event-driven architectures. Your role will include writing clean, maintainable code, producing technical documentation, and following best practices in software development.


You will collaborate with other developers and stakeholders to transform jointly defined requirements into production-ready applications. Your work will involve creating and executing unit, integration, and performance tests, conducting code reviews, and contributing to overall platform stability through proactive support and maintenance. You will help ensure that every service is built with scalability, reliability, and security in mind.

Last year alone, we launched around 60 new products on the market. This also includes new services and software.

WHAT YOU NEED IS:


University degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer in an enterprise environment Proficient in developing cloud-native applications using Java (Spring Boot) and JavaScript Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases Solid understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture, ideally in AWS Strong focus on code quality, testing, and security best practices Fluent in English with a proactive mindset and passion for innovation and continuous improvement
