Description

Design, develop, and maintain embedded and application-level software for railway systems. Implement software components according to requirements and design specifications. Ensure compliance with EN 50128 / EN 50657 standards for safety-related railway software. Perform software integration, debugging, and verification in lab and on-site environments. Document software design, code, and verification activities for certification. Collaborate with system engineers, safety managers, and V&V teams to ensure traceability and quality. Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, methodologies, and tools. Support problem-solving during commissioning and customer acceptance phases.

Job requirements

Degree in Software Engineering, Electronics, or related field. 2+ years of experience in software development for railway. Strong skills in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python. Knowledge of real-time operating systems, communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, MVB, etc.), and embedded targets. Understanding of railway SW standards (EN 50128, EN 50657) or willingness to acquire it. Experience with configuration management, version control, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Jenkins). Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong teamwork skills. Fluent in German and English.
