Software Engineer - Algo Infrastructure

for our office in Hamburg.

The OU Operations is further building up its activities around algorithmic trading systems in the Algo Infrastructure Team as part of the Data Modelling & Analytics IT department. The Algo Infrastructure Team works closely with the front office and takes the leading role in providing software solutions for algorithmic trading and automated trade execution.

Your Job

Develop, support, and continuously improve world class software solutions for algorithmic trading together with algorithmic traders, developers, and data scientists in a fast moving agile working environment

Work in the area of system availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning (on-premise, cloud, and co-location)

Split your time between development and operational tasks (monitoring the system, taking responsibility on incident handling and helping/supporting user)

Keep track of the latest market developments around algorithmic trading technologies and provide related advise

Implement trading risk management / alert systems

Adhere to and further develop the company\xe2\x80\x99s algorithmic trading software development standards and best practices, incl. documentation, testing, and peer review

Your profile

Your Profile

Academic background with a Bachelor\'s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering or related subject

3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in software development ideally linked to the (algorithmic) trading business at energy companies, banks, hedge funds or (algorithmic) trading firms

Strong experience with distributed systems and cloud/container technologies (Kubernetes, ideally in Azure)

Expert-level knowledge of algorithms, design patterns, OOP, threading, multiprocessing, etc.

Proven programming skills and experience in compiled (C, C++ or C#) and one scripting language (ideally Python)

Solid backend system implementation experience, good experience with Linux

Experience in CI/CD and automated deployment (ideally Azure DevOps, Terraform)

Fluency in English (both written and spoken); additional languages advantageous

Team player with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various internal stakeholders
