As a Senior Systems Analyst (Operational Technology), you will play a key role in the design, integration, and implementation of advanced industrial OT systems. You will be responsible for planning and delivering significant portions of complex technical projects with minimal supervision—covering system setup, configuration, testing, and documentation. You will work closely with local and international project teams, supporting clients in the industrial automation and manufacturing sectors. This position may involve occasional on-site work at customer facilities across Germany and Europe, with collaboration across engineering and technology disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and design complex OT (Operational Technology) systems with minimal supervision, ensuring integration with existing IT and production environments.
Work with project teams to define project scope, documentation, and system setup, including required startup support.
Configure, implement, test, and document complete OT systems (servers, PCs, networks, hardware, and software).
Install, start up, and troubleshoot OT systems at customer sites throughout Germany and Europe.
Provide operator and user training for implemented OT systems.
Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive customer information and follow all cybersecurity policies.
Develop and maintain internal OT standards, ensuring compliance across projects.
Support estimation efforts and technical design reviews for proposals and bids.
Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing within the OT team.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, IT, and field operations to ensure successful system integration.
Contribute to continuous improvement, technology evaluation, and innovation within the OT discipline.
Remain available for occasional after-hours support where customer needs require.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related engineering field; or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in OT or IT Systems Engineering, Systems Analysis, or similar roles focused on industrial/manufacturing environments.
Proven experience with hardware/software configuration, server and network infrastructure setup, and field commissioning/startup activities.
Hands-on experience with industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC, etc.) is a plus.
Previous exposure to multinational or cross-discipline project environments is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Server and physical and virtual server configuration and maintenance
Network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, switches, firewalls, VLANs).
OT/IT cybersecurity principles.
Advanced Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Experience with advanced Windows Services.
Additional Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to think strategically.
Excellent communication skills in English; German language proficiency is a strong advantage.
Confident working with clients and partners in both technical and business discussions.
Self-motivated with high initiative and strong teamwork orientation.
Open to occasional travel (national and international) for project support and commissioning.
Commitment to continuous learning and maintaining awareness of emerging OT technologies.
Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory)
Professional-level certifications such as CCNP, VCP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
Additional vendor or security certifications related to networks or industrial systems are an asset.
