THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a member of the team you will contribute to the creation and execution of sourcing strategies. You drive the sourcing and negotiation of contracts, consult evaluation projects and enable fact based decisions. You will interact regularly with vendors and internal stakeholders across all organisational levels. For delivering our services, you will work closely with Technology teams, Legal, Information Security and Software Asset Management.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

You manage sourcing and procurement of IT for the Zalando Group with a focus on Software, IT Hardware and IT Infrastructure. You are responsible for defining, executing and implementing sourcing strategies in alignment with relevant stakeholders of Zalando’s Tech teams and Indirect Procurement, supporting IT enabled transformations following company strategies. You negotiate, design and monitor relevant contracts in close collaboration with Tech teams, Legal and Information Security. You are responsible for supporting the Business Units with managing key suppliers. In procurement projects, you will translate business needs into sourcing specification and run end-to-end tenders incl. evaluations of complex proposals. You support the budget owners at Zalando with your market knowledge and through calculating cost scenarios. You enable data driven decisions and deliver commercial improvements based on aligned targets. You will take part in cross-functional collaboration initiatives within Indirect Procurement and Finance.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

You have a degree in business studies or economics, ideally combined with IT, or a comparable qualification. You have 3+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in purchasing for a large company. You have a passion for IT, bring good understanding for a sophisticated IT environment and are curious to extend your knowledge even further (e.g., new license models, transformations enabled by AI). You can demonstrate commercial acumen and have experience in managing sourcing projects, negotiations, contract optimization, vendor management, catalogue management and tendering. Excellent communication skills enable you to successfully manage external and internal stakeholders across different domains in a solution oriented way - high level of proficiency in English is a must have. You have good analytical skills and a problem-solving attitude with a proven ability to achieve cost savings and overall efficiency on focused categories of spend. You work in a structured and independent manner and are eager to work in an intense and growing environment, living Zalando’s Our Founding Mindset You are a highly motivated team player and are flexible when it comes to new and changing tasks.
