PL BioScience, a spin-off of RWTH Aachen University, has been driving innovation in sustainable cell culture media since 2015. Our Human Platelet Lysates (HPL) are trusted by research labs and cell therapy developers around the world.

We recently decided to invest in a new production facility in Aachen. This will be a major step for the company and requires the implementation of a completely new organization including Process Development, Manufacturing and Quality Control. As a foundation of these new teams, we are looking for a dedicated Senior Quality Control Specialist (m/f/d) with relevant experience in quality control and the ambition to contribute to the development of our new QC department in Aachen.

Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be an essential part of our new QC team, ensuring the testing, validation, and compliance of our innovative HPL products. Your daily tasks will include:

Implement new QC methods and technologies in a regulated laboratory environment Build, develop and continuously improve the QC lab environment and its processes Qualification of QC laboratory equipment and validation of methods Testing and analysis of raw materials, intermediates and final biotechnological products in compliance with applicable standards Organize and ensure supplies of reagents, materials, and consumables for the QC laboratory Manage and coordinate outsourced QC activities Organize and perform stability studies and report results Create and maintain SOPs, forms, study reports and other quality-related records in compliance with GMP and/or ISO 9001 requirements Collaborate closely with the QM team and other departments such as R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain management to achieve quality objectives

What You Bring to the Table

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

Must-haves

Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Biotechnology); PhD is a plus Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a relevant Quality Control and GMP lab environment Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills Sound knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or GMP; knowledge of other applicable regulatory standards is a plus Collaborative working style focused on understanding processes, supporting solutions, meeting challenges and objectives Proven communication skills (English and German), with the ability to interact effectively with other internal departments High quality awareness, solution-oriented thinking and sense of ownership Hands-on mentality and high motivation to work in an evolving company Experience with Microsoft Office, LIMS, ERP systems and applying statistical approaches desired
