This role will be part of the Regulatory Projects Tower for Group Technology, responsible for delivering strategic roadmaps driven by regulatory changes, audit remediation, and cyber/IT security projects across Munich Re, MEAG, and ERGO. The Tower manages project portfolios aligned with business stakeholder demands, including Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and IT Risk & Security (ITRS), overseeing prioritization, roadmap planning, financial management, and reporting. It ensures that any impact on MTB/RUN operations is identified and planned with the relevant project sponsors before initiating projects.

The Senior Project Manager in the Transformation / Strategic Planning department is responsible for driving the implementation of the Purple Transformation Program and ensuring the alignment of the Munich RE IT strategy with business objectives. This role involves effective collaboration with stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the transformation efforts.

Your Job



Conception of strategies for the entire Group Tech Function as well as at the Tower level Manage projects within the Transformation of the IT organization of Munich RE, ERGO (including ERGO International), and MEAG Develop and implement project plans, focusing on financials, initiatives, processes, and skills required for successful execution Oversee all project procurement activities, ensuring the preparation and delivery of required documentation. Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of project resources, ensuring smooth transitions in close collaboration with HR and in accordance with internal guidelines. Establish and maintain a monitoring system for project progress, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones Ensure the realization of project objectives by managing change requests and collaborating with relevant stakeholders during the implementation phase Drive the successful achievement of project goals by managing change requests and coordinating with key stakeholders throughout the implementation phase Collaborate with the Corporate Strategy Units of Munich RE, ERGO, and MEAG to align project outcomes with the IT and business strategy Contribute to the development and alignment of Tower Strategies with the overarching IT Strategy by collaborating closely with the IT Leadership Team Organize and facilitate executive-level workshops within the Group IT organization to drive strategic discussions and alignment Monitor and analyze market and competitor trends, perform SWOT analyses, and collaborate with Business Decision Makers and the IT Leadership Team to implement strategic initiatives

Your Profile



Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred Wide-ranging experience in top management consulting with at least 10+ years of professional experience in IT or related areas; familiarity with financial services is advantageous Proven ability to manage projects successfully in international, complex, regulated environments. Experience in a global technology environment, with expertise in project planning, execution, and delivery Skilled in managing change effectively, contributing to the establishment of Global Technology operating models Experience in negotiating project-related agreements and managing project budgets (operating and capital) Ability to ensure compliance with policy, audit, regulatory, and related requirements within projects Competent in prioritizing tasks and providing leadership in high-pressure project environments Collaborative team player with a consulting approach, fostering a culture of accountability, openness, and sharing within project teams Effective communication, presentation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technology into business terms for stakeholders Proficiency in English and willingness to travel as needed
