This role will be part of the Enterprise Architecture Tower for Group Technology (IT 1.5), which defines and drives the overarching Enterprise Architecture (EA) strategy to support business agility and growth across Munich Re Group. The Tower develops multiyear roadmaps covering platforms, products, digital experience, and organizational design—balancing strategic alignment and transformation goals. It ensures consistent policy, monitors architecture delivery, and optimizes the application portfolio to reduce costs and accelerate innovation. Additionally, the Tower provides SDLC tools and processes that enhance global developer productivity in a secure, compliant, and standardized environment.

We are currently seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the modernization of our Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) ecosystem — driving our transition to a unified, secure, and efficient SDLC platform. You will own the enterprise rollout of SDLC Tools like GitHub and GitHub Copilot, oversee the migration from Azure DevOps etc. and ensure all IT controls and compliance requirements are implemented and continuously monitored. This role is a key enabler of developer productivity, software quality, and governance excellence.


The Sr. Product Manager is accountable for ramping up product teams along OneEssentials Methodology and definition / implementation of Service Catalogues across SDLC Products. In addition the role has to consolidate SDLC Vendors and lead the migration from non GitHub Tools to GitHub, covering source control, CI/CD pipelines, and workflow automation.

Streamline Operations along strategic SDLC Products Seamless and secure migration from non-strategic SLDC tools to Golden Path / Pathways Successful adoption of GitHub Copilot with measurable productivity gains All relevant IT controls implemented and monitored across SDLC Products in your scope Improved developer experience, governance, and release efficiency across teams Demonstrated, data-driven improvement in engineering outcomes Roll out GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Copilot across all engineering teams, including licensing, onboarding, and adoption strategy. Define and execute the product roadmaps, including integrations, automation, and process improvement. Partner with SDLC Teams and Security to define standardized SDLC processes (branching, code review, release management, etc.). Implement and monitor all relevant IT controls across GitHub, ADO, and related DevOps tooling — ensuring compliance with internal and external audit standards. Establish strong governance and compliance frameworks (repository access, secrets management, code scanning, and audit logging). Define and track KPIs for engineering efficiency, tool adoption, and release quality. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on developer experience and platform performance. Communicate strategy, progress, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.

Your profile

7+ years of Product Management experience, including 3+ years in DevOps, developer platforms, or engineering productivity. good understanding of GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, and Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards).
Proven experience managing tool migrations (ADOGitHub preferred). Strong understanding of IT controls, audit readiness, and compliance frameworks Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and modern SDLC best practices Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills Experience defining and tracking engineering productivity and DevOps performance metrics. Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, opentofu) Ability to estimate the business, risk and financial impacts of architecture alternatives Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of existing, new and emerging technologies that enable and drive new business designs and models Strong written and verbal communication in English
