Senior Counsel EMEA (m/f/d)

you will report to the Legal Director Technology & Solutions. This position can be based either in Germany or in the UK, depending on the candidate’s location. Flexible office hours and employee-friendly remote working options are available.

Key responsibilities

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of operational and commercial contracts, including distribution, sales and marketing agreements as well as agreements with healthcare professionals Advising internal stakeholders in the EMEA region on a variety of legal and business issues, including healthcare-related marketing and sales campaigns and materials Participating in M&A projects, divestitures, and other matters with organization-wide impact Advising on legal risks and proposing solutions to mitigate them Establishing, monitoring, and optimizing legal processes, workflows, standards and templates Building close cross-functional relationships and maintaining a strong knowledge of our products and services Managing relationships with outside counsel and other professionals representing us Coordinating pre-litigation, litigation and alternative dispute resolution matters Building and maintaining a legal Center of Excellence for the review and approval of marketing assets and claims related to medical devices.

Requirements

Fully qualified German (Volljurist) or UK lawyer 5+ years of relevant post-qualification experience (preferably gained in an international corporation), including a background in contract, corporate, competition and anti-trust law and supporting sales initiatives, with a preference for experience in the healthcare or medical devices industry Team player with strong interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple parallel projects, to prioritize, meet deadlines and provide solutions Ability to work independently in a fast-paced / high volume environment with good business and common sense Experience and confidence in dealing with and supporting senior management (both in written and verbal communications), including the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents and communications Proactive, pragmatic and efficient working style with a hands-on mentality Willingness to learn and dive into new tasks Fluency in English (written and spoken), especially legal terminology, is required. German language skills are a strong advantage. Additional languages are a plus.
