Job Description
As Finance department, we are the central department where all ends meet. We collaborate closely with a multitude of stakeholders to provide visibility on actual performance, foster adherence to financial guidelines, drumbeat planning processes and transform inputs into future profitability to support decision making. In a team of 7, we administer all financial tasks that arise in an entire company, which allows you to work alongside a multitude of topics which are often shared among several finance teams. You are a great fit for us if you can work under limited supervision, want to be a mentor for less senior colleagues, can be the key controlling person and number one sparring partner for the Head of Finance, like to implement or improve financial processes and aspire to grow your career and financial acumen within an international organization.
While some of our processes are already state of the art (like Forecast & Budget consolidation or our Power BI Dashboards), we still need support in other areas to be among the winning teams within Wabtec. This role provides you with much space for personal & professional growth, creativity and the chance to display leadership, but all of it embedded into a friendly and helpful team full of ambitious Finance colleagues who will always be your fallback solution when things get busy.
In your new role you would:
Be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual
closing process
Drive the
budgeting
and
forecasting
process in close collaboration with your FP&A colleagues and the entire leadership team
Determine
hourly rates
as basis for our sales colleagues to properly price our services and ensure a reasonable balance between competitiveness and cost absorption
Further develop reporting and forecasting of
variances
related to
standard costing
(volume and price deviations) to uncover and optimize inefficiencies
Act as sparring partner for project management controlling to evaluate project-based / Percentage-of-Completion (
POC
)
accounting
Get a lot of
visibility
through your participation in reviews with senior management (if desired - no must)
Serve as a
business partner
to our operating departments like operations, engineering, project management or sales
Collaborate with your accounting colleagues to give guidance on the booking of business transactions in our local ERP system (SAP) to further improve
cost center controlling
granularity
Become comfortable with Wabtec’s
financial policies
and help us ensure always being compliant with SOX - regulations (
Sarbanes Oxley Act
)
Be the main point of contact for our finance colleagues in
China
for the harmonization of our controlling landscape
Qualifications
What we would like you to bring:
University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years experience in FP&A/Controlling preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Solid working experience with ERP Systems (like SAP) and tools for financial consolidation like Oracle HFM, SAP BI or OneStream
Very good Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to manage large amounts of data efficiently
Experience with Power Query/ Power BI or the willingness to get up and running with it would be a plus
Ability to work under limited supervision while being a strong team player who fits in
Desire to take over a role with much growth potential and responsibility
Fluent in
German & English
with strong written and verbal communication skills
Hands-on mentality with a solution-oriented approach to work
Friendly and easy-going personality
