Role Summary

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Senior Accountant – Vice President (f/m/d) to join our Finance & Control Department!

In this role you will be responsible for:
Managing and developing financial reporting tools and ensuring data integrity Preparing IFRS group financials and statutory reports Leading data management and automation projects




For you to succeed in the role, you’ll need to have:
Strong IFRS expertise and advanced Excel/Power BI skills Proven experience in financial institutions or consultancy Business-fluent German and English Position Description

About this role:

This role is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting and data quality within SMBC’s Finance & Control team. It impacts the organisation by driving automation, compliance, and efficiency in accounting processes.

Stakeholders:

You will collaborate with IT teams, auditors, regulatory reporting teams, and senior management across EMEA.



Our role will enable you to:
Own and develop financial reporting tools (FRP) Deliver monthly IFRS group financials and statutory reports Coordinate audits and lead data-driven projects Support new product processes and system integrations




What will you bring to the role?



Essential:
Long-term experience in international financial institutions or consultancy Strong analytical and IT skills (Excel, Power BI, Access) Expertise in IFRS; HGB knowledge is a plus




Desirable:
Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) Experience with BI tools and automation projects Competencies
