Senior Accountant, Global Accounting & Accounts Payable Lead

Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in managing and improving our global accounting operations. This role combines hands-on responsibility for the German entity’s accounting (HGB) with coordination and oversight of accounting processes across all global entities, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and consistency.

In addition, the role includes

global ownership of the Accounts Payable (AP) process

, ensuring timely, compliant, and efficient invoice management across all regions.

Responsibilities



Lead day-to-day accounting under

HGB and IFRS

(AP, AR, assets, banking). Ensure

accurate and transparent monthly, quarterly, and annual closings

. Drive

process improvements and automation

across accounting and reporting to support scaling operations. Establish and document

clear standards, workflows, and internal controls

for all entities. Oversee

intercompany reconciliations and cross-border transactions

(Germany / US). Serve as the

primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and external accounting partners

. Take

global ownership of Accounts Payable

— managing vendor payments, process optimization, and system integration (e.g., NetSuite, Moss, Ramp). Partner with the

Director FP&A and Finance team

to deliver meaningful financial insights and reports for management and other stakeholders.

Qualifications



Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or certified accountant qualification).

7+ years of professional experience

in accounting, ideally in an international and fast-moving environment (startup/scale-up, Big4, or industry). Deep expertise in

HGB and IFRS

. Strong track record in

closing and audit processes

. Passion for

creating clarity, transparency, and well-structured processes

. Proven ability to

design, implement, and improve accounting workflows

. Skilled with

ERP/accounting systems

(DATEV, NetSuite, or similar). Excellent English and German communication skills. Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive with a hands-on mentality.
