Your mission



Position Overview:



The Senior Accountant supports the efficient operation of the accounting function by ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely financial reporting, compliance with relevant regulations (including tax and non-profit requirements), and the overall integrity of financial data. In doing so, they contribute to the financial transparency and stability needed to support the organization’s mission and operations.

Your responsibilities



Ensure efficient processing and accurate accounting treatment of transactions, maintaining clear and effective internal communication at all times. Oversee compliance with tax obligations, including VAT, corporate tax, and other relevant filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to support consistent and efficient financial reporting. Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices in accounting operations and systems. Define and monitor performance indicators for the accuracy and timeliness of accounting processes (e.g., bookkeeping, approvals, payments), statutory reporting, and tax filings. Stay informed on developments in legal, accounting, and tax regulations, as well as relevant industry trends.

Your knowledge, experience & skills



Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter or similar certification preferred). Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance. Understanding of accounting, financial and tax regulations. Experience in financial reporting, tax filing (VAT, reverse charge, etc.) Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., DATEV, MS Dynamics, etc.) and MS Office Suite. Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure. Strong communication skills (in both English and German), with the ability to interact with colleagues, senior management, auditors and tax advisors. Strong organizational skills
