YOUR MISSION
You will be a member of our interdisciplinary teams alongside colleagues from project management, protein production, structural biology, medicinal and computational chemistry.
You will be responsible for providing approaches to challenging basic research questions by developing biochemical binding and functional assays in microplate format as well as biophysical assay formats for multi-membered biological systems.
You will proactively contribute to defining research goals and experimental strategies with the goal of understanding biological mechanisms and to identify intervention points in the disease pathways.
You will summarize your research results in recurring reports (quarterly and at project completion) and efficiently present the data in customer meetings and conferences.
You will work within our state-of-the-art biochemistry and biophysics platform, instructing lab staff, performing experiments and analyzing data.
YOUR PROFILE
You have a PhD degree in biochemistry, biology or comparable discipline
You have advanced experience in enzymology and biochemical technologies such as TR-FRET, AlphaLisa, luminescence, FI, FP, FRET/BRET. Experience with biophysical technologies like nanoDSF, TSA, MST, ITC or SPR will be a plus.
Your track record demonstrates long-term, in-depth engagement in research contributing to the understanding of complex biological systems (e.g. DNA mismatch repair; mode of assembly of multiprotein complexes including sequence of events).
You have 3+ years of relevant work experience and basic knowledge of the drug discovery process from screen to lead.
You are able to plan experiments, generate and analyze biochemical/ biophysical data and report to internal project teams and external stakeholders.
You are experienced in discussing data from neighboring disciplines and in adjusting experimental approaches for integrating new findings.
Your positive, communicative and open personality helps you to understand other opinions and contributes to productive project discussions with internal and customer project teams.
Fluent English and basic German language skills are required.
