Research Assistant (Postdoc)
The position is offered for a period of 4 years with the option to extend for an additional two years following a successful evaluation. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13).
Tasks:
scientific services in research and teaching
development of novel and innovative research fields in the area of pancreatic tumor microenvironment (PDAC tumor-stroma research)
elucidation of new therapeutic approaches to modulate the tumor microenvironment and studying the underlying molecular and biochemical mechanisms
performing in vivo experiments using mouse models of pancreatic cancer
The position is limited to the period which is adequate to the duration of the qualification period. The qualification goal is a habilitation or an equivalent qualification required for a professorship. Within the scope of the assigned duties it will offer the possibility of independent scientific research for further qualification. The limitation complies to § 2 sec. 1 WissZeitVG.
Profile:
completed scientific/medical university studies (MSc-degree or equivalent in) with topic-relevant doctoral degree, preferably in an oncological area
expertise in preclinical oncological research, preferably with a link to tumor stroma
own hands-on expertise in work with preclinical mouse models, preferably with cancer models
valid certificates of animal experimentation permits (FELASA, others)
own publication track record in peer-reviewed journals
good written and spoken English language skills
Disposition to own scientific qualification (e.g. habilitation) is expected.
