Research Assistant (Postdoc)
The position is offered from March 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 100 %).
Tasks:
scientific services in research
independent planning, implementation and evaluation of animal experiments (mouse model) on the immunogenicity and efficacy of vaccines
development and standardization of methods for analyzing humoral and cellular immune responses
working with highly pathogenic viruses under BSL4 conditions (virological and animal experimental work)
project development, documentation and communication with project partners
The position will be filled by a temporary contract that is limited to the period which is necessary to gain further scientific expertise (such as the preparation for a subsequent qualification period). Within the entrusted tasks the opportunity for independent scientific work to obtain further personal qualification is given. The limitation of the contract complies to Section 2 (1) of the WissZeitVG.
Profile:
completed university degree in human biology, biology, veterinary medicine or medicine with a doctorate or proof that you are nearing completion of your doctoral studies
several years of experience in the analysis of humoral and cellular immune responses
several years of experience in conducting animal experiments with mice
independence, high motivation and excellent teamwork skills
experience in handling highly pathogenic viruses (safety level BSL-3 or BSL-4) as well as in cell biology and virology methods is advantageous
A willingness to pursue your own scientific qualifications is expected.
