Research Assistant (Postdoc )



The position is offered until 30.04.2027, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is 01.11.2025. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 100 %).



Tasks:



scientific services in research infection experiments under BSL-4 conditions investigation of viral replication and transcription using virus surrogate systems independent planning, implementation, and evaluation of experiments under BSL-4 and BSL-2 conditions screening of antiviral compounds against filoviruses and investigations into the mechanism of inhibition project development and discussion of results with project partners

The position will be filled by a temporary contract that is limited to the period which is necessary to gain further scientific expertise (such as the preparation for a subsequent qualification period). Within the entrusted tasks the opportunity for independent scientific work to obtain further personal qualification is given. The limitation of the contract complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.



Profile:



completed scientific university degree (diploma, master's or equivalent) in human biology, biology or chemistry with a doctorate or proof that you are about to complete your doctoral studies several years of experience working with infectious viruses experience in molecular biology, cell biology and virology methods independence and very good teamwork skills

The following are advantageous:



experience in handling highly pathogenic viruses (safety conditions, safety level BSL-3 or -4) experience in conducting animal experiments experience with virus surrogate systems

Disposition to own scientific qualification is expected.
