Research Assistant (PhD student)
The position is initially offered for a period of 3 years. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is part-time (65 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65 %).
Using a multidisciplinary approach, Prof. Hantschel's research group aims to understand the molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis and therapy resistance and to develop novel approaches to targeted therapies using allosteric inhibitors and intracellular protein-based therapeutics known as monobodies.

scientific services in research and teaching
working on a doctoral project with the aim of investigating new mechanisms of therapeutic resistance to allosteric inhibitors and/or performing molecular and functional characterisation of monobodies
participation in the preparation of scientific publications and presentations
supervision of students' qualification work and support in teaching human medicine and human biology students
As part of the assigned responsibilities, the position offers the opportunity to conduct independent academic research, which contributes to the candidate´s own scientific qualification. The limitation complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.
Profile:
university degree (diploma, MSc or equivalent) in a biological, life science, pharmaceutical or chemical field
high level of motivation and sound knowledge of biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, bioorganic chemistry or pharmacy
willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team
good English oral and writing skills are required
high degree of responsibility, ability to work in a team and willingness to communicate with colleagues and scientists
A willingness to pursue your own academic qualifications (e.g. a doctoral project in the field of molecular cancer research) is expected.
