Our Quality Assurance team ensures that trivago's products, tools, and services can continue to evolve while maintaining reliability, quality and ensuring that new features are in the best possible shape before they go live to our users.



You'll be working within the Accommodation Core team. One important part of our mission is to provide high-quality

content and associated deductions

that empower trivago users. This means you'll have an opportunity to work on testing challenging topics, for example, pipelines collecting data from various sources, services consolidating information into a single source of truth, services building inferences using this data and delivering it to our consumers which utilize modern technologies and paradigms like

serverless architecture, data batch processing, stream processing

and many more.



Within this team, you'll be required to test various APIs and other backend services. In addition to manual and exploratory testing techniques, creating and maintaining test automation solutions and test suites is very critical for this role.

How you'll make an impact:




Working as part of a highly agile, multidisciplinary team, you'll be tasked with

testing changes to our most critical services

, focusing primarily on complex backend infrastructure setups.

Identify defects by using manual/exploratory, automated, and regression testing,

as well as by setting up and monitoring alerts. Design, develop and maintain automated tests in various test automation frameworks to confirm the functionality of our backend services and the E2E data flows. When unforeseen problems arise, delays will be inevitable, so it's essential that you

keep all relevant stakeholders up to date

on the status of the expected product changes.

What you'll need to thrive:




An

impeccable eye for detail

that allows you to spot even the smallest errors and unintended changes to our core products. Excellent

communication and coordination skills

so you're able to manage stakeholder expectations diplomatically and collaborate efficiently within large, dynamic teams. Being

open to change and relishing new challenges

: adapting to new processes and structural changes as part of a highly-agile environment. Minimum 5 years experience in a Quality Assurance role with a focus on

API testing and automating test cases

Previous experience with

languages and technologies

like Java/Python, SQL, GIT AND Kafka etc. (learning on the job is also provided and encouraged). A bachelor's degree in

Computer Science/Information Technology

Knowledge or

hands-on experience

in any common testing and/or automation tools such as Karate, REST Assured, Postman

Good coding skills

to implement scripts and pipelines for automation.
