YOUR TASKS





We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in power electronics and HVDC systems to lead the technical coordination of converter stations.


Project objective: The project involves the development of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) connection between an offshore wind platform and an onshore converter station, enabling efficient transmission of renewable energy via a 525 kV underground cable system. It aims to integrate offshore wind power into the mainland grid through a continuous HVDC link spanning long distances.



Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:


Technical project management of the HVDC system within the project, including the technical control of the onshore and offshore converters Coordination and management of the entire technical project—from tendering and awarding contracts to external contractors to successful implementation and handover to operations Central point of contact for all technical matters relating to the HVDC system vis-à-vis internal and external stakeholders Carrying out (partial) acceptance tests within your area of responsibility and monitoring technical quality and contract fulfillment Monitoring compliance with quality specifications during the planning and execution phase, including reviewing technical documentation and implementation on site Preparation and review of project documentation to ensure complete and traceable documentation Supporting approval procedures in accordance with NABEG and BImSchG, including technical support and coordination with authorities

REQUIREMENTS & YOUR EXPERTISE




Completed university degree in electrical engineering, electrical power engineering or a comparable field Several years of experience in project management or specialist project management of large scale technical projects, ideally in the field of HVDC, high voltage technology, or energy infrastructure In-depth knowledge of power converter and converter technology Familiarity with technical equipment for high and extra-high voltage technology (AC and DC) Knowledge of contract and addendum management, especially in dealing with system suppliers Good German language skills (at least level B2) and very good English language skills (at least level C1) Successful candidate must have eligibility to work in the EU, along with the outlined qualifications
