Project description





The project is part of the Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) initiative funded by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA). It focuses on organising and implementing high-level training workshops to enhance the harmonised application of the Official Controls Regulation (OCR), improve import controls at border control posts (BCPs), and ensure the effective use of the Trade Control and Expert System (TRACES).



The initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of competent authorities in EU Member States, Candidate Countries, and select EU Neighbourhood Countries to ensure food and feed safety, animal and plant health, and consumer protection in line with the EU’s "One Health" approach.

Job description





As Project Manager, you will lead the successful implementation of all project components across multiple EU countries. The projects duration will be 30 months (Phase1) with a 30-month extension envisaged for Phase 2. You will oversee technical, logistical, and financial management, ensuring high-quality delivery of workshops and alignment with the contracting authority’s requirements. Your responsibilities include:



Overall responsibility for the provision of the services under the contract Full project lifecycle management including work plan, timeline, and deliverables Main contact and communication point for the contracting authority and DG SANTE and liaison management with other stakeholders Oversight of training coordinators, moderators, event managers, and support staff Ensuring training organisation and participant selection align with quotas and contractual obligations Oversight of reporting (interim and final), data entry into HaDEA platforms, and KPI monitoring Ensuring sustainability measures are embedded in project delivery in line with the EU Green Deal

Qualifications





University degree relevant to the subject matter of this tender At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in managing large-scale EU-funded or international cooperation projects Proven experience with training coordination or capacity development; preferably in public health, food safety, or regulatory sectors Excellent stakeholder coordination and team leadership skills Experience in working with EU Member States and/or Candidate Countries Familiarity with digital tools for project management Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; additional EU languages are an asset Familiarity with the BTSF initiative, HaDEA, or DG SANTE projects is a strong asset
