Are you excited by ambitious projects, complex production challenges, and the thrill of building something entirely new? We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join ROCKFISH Games and help steer an undisclosed Unreal Engine 5 project from early development through production.



At ROCKFISH Games, we’re known for exploring new frontiers—creatively and technically. While this project is still under wraps, one thing is certain: it’s ambitious, it’s built with Unreal Engine 5, and it needs strong production leadership to turn vision into reality. As a Project Manager, you’ll be working closely with leads across all disciplines to keep the project on course. You’ll help the team find the right balance between creative exploration and production structure—without getting in the way of what makes indie development special.

Responsibilities




Plan, track, and maintain project schedules, milestones, and dependencies Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams including Art, Design, Engineering, Audio, and QA Facilitate planning meetings, reviews, stand-ups, and retrospectives Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies early and help drive solutions Ensure transparency around progress, scope, and priorities Support the team by removing obstacles and improving workflows Communicate project status clearly to internal stakeholders Help align creative ambition with production realities

Requirements




Intermediate to Senior professional experience as a Project Manager, Producer, or similar role in game development or a related interactive industry Solid understanding of game development pipelines and cross-functional workflows Experience working on Unreal Engine projects (UE4 or UE5) Strong organizational and planning skills Clear, reliable communication and a collaborative mindset Experience with agile, iterative, or hybrid development methodologies Passion for video games

Bonus Skills




Experience working in indie or mid-sized studios Familiarity with production tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar Experience shipping at least one major indie or AA, game Experience shipping titles on both PC and consoles Interest in space, sci-fi, or exploration-driven games German language; English proficiency is required for day-to-day communication with offsite/global team members

Location





Preference will go to Germany-based candidates, with secondary preference to those within +1/-1 time zone. The role is partial hybrid, with the expectation the candidate will travel to the Hamburg office twice monthly.
