WHAT'S THE ROLE?


As Program Manager Product Care you define and execute the lifecycle management strategy for a portfolio of precision instruments used in construction and other verticals. You ensure production continuity, safeguard quality, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Leading a cross-organizational team of technical experts, you drive initiatives to deliver product upgrades, increase production efficiency, and reduce costs. You closely collaborate with suppliers and R&D groups in an international setting.




Based in Jena, Germany, this position requires approximately 10-15 % travel and reports to the Senior Director of Development & Operations under the umbrella of our ICT Joint Venture.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?


Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for product maintenance and operational improvements in line with overall business objectives Define and manage scope, goals, and deliverables of a product care activities Successful execution of product care projects together with the respective project leaders and teams to scope: including schedule, quality, and costs Clearly understand and communicate projects status, schedules, risks, resource requirements, and cost for each project Continuously improve project execution through rigorous implementation of best practices and lessons from previous projects Collaborate with the Engineering and Operations management teams to manage and improve the performance of internal project teams and outside partners Coaching of project leaders and team members to help them execute projects effectively and efficiently Evolve the produce care organization to adapt to business requirements and streamline collaboration between different stakeholder groups Balance your time to ensure all projects get adequate support from you to ensure positive and timely results

WHAT YOU NEED IS:


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Production Engineering, Supply Management or Project Management Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to results Minimum 5 years’ experience in complex development projects including hardware and software components, experience in manufacturing and production engineering as well as precision optics is a plus Ability to develop effective, professional relationships with internal departments, external engineering and manufacturing partners that transcend potentially adversarial circumstances. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to structure complex topics and prepare documents for senior management
