Protestant Theology with a focus on
TU Dortmund University comprising 17 departments in the natural and
engineering sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences is a
dynamic university with a strong profile in research, teaching, promotion
of young scientists and transfer.
The Department of Humanities and Theology includes the Institutes of
Protestant Theology and Catholic Theology as well as a joint Institute of
Philosophy and Political Science. The Institute of Protestant Theology
offers teacher training programs for Protestant religious education in all
types of schools. The Department has an interdisciplinary focus on
teaching and research in the field of “Religion and Politics” with special
emphasis on philosophical references.
Profile of the professorship
You represent the field of Systematic Theology (Dogmatics and Ethics)
in research and further develop this with international visibility. In doing
so, you participate in research networks and cooperations within and
outside TU Dortmund University and are committed to promoting early
career researchers. In teaching, you are responsible for the subject
Protestant Theology with a focus on Systematic Theology and
participate appropriately in the teaching activities of the department,
a. o. in the English-speaking interdisciplinary Master\'s program in
religion, ethics and politics ("MAREPOL").
You have obtained a doctorate with above-average success and have
acquired a post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or an
equivalent qualification. You have demonstrated your research
reputation in the field of the professorship through continuous national
and international publications in recognized peer-reviewed venues and
have successfully and independently acquired third-party funding.
Participation in international research networks is expected.
Additionally, you have the potential for teaching excellence. Social and
leadership skills and the willingness to participate in academic self-
administration complete your profile. Moreover, the recruitment
requirements of Sections 36 and 37 of the North Rhine-Westphalia
Higher Education Act (Gesetz über die Hochschulen des Landes
Nordrhein-Westfalen, HG) apply.
