We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to independently manage and continuously develop our production area. This role combines operational leadership, process optimization, and team development, with direct responsibility for production performance, safety, and the implementation of new technologies in a growing manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily production operations to meet output, quality, safety, and delivery targets
Continuously improve and stabilize processes (CI/Kaizen, standard work, waste reduction)
Plan manpower, shifts, training, and coverage (staff deployment & personnel planning)
Lead and develop the production team (onboarding, coaching, performance)
Own production KPIs and actions: OEE, yield/scrap %, loss %, cycle time, downtime, OTIF
Drive lean process optimization (e.g., 5S, SMED/changeover reduction, root-cause/8D)
Ensure in-process quality control and nonconformance handling with QC/R&D
Ensure compliance for occupational safety, environmental protection, and fire safety
Coordinate with SCM, QC, R&D, and management to secure materials, plans, and priorities
Support equipment reliability and new implementations (maintenance coordination, trials, ramp-up, investments)
Qualifications & Profile
Technical degree or further training as a
Master Craftsman (Meister)
or
Technician (Techniker)
, ideally in plastics engineering, extrusion, laminating, mechanical engineering, or a comparable qualification
Minimum
3 years of professional experience
in production and/or quality control
Extensive knowledge of
process analysis, process optimization, and lean management
Strong understanding of production KPIs and continuous improvement methodologies
Integrative leadership style with strong communication and decision-making skills
High degree of personal responsibility, innovative mindset, and proven implementation experience
Hands-on mentality and pragmatic problem-solving approach
Good German and English skills; additional languages are an advantage
