The Product Engineer Aftermarket (m/f/d) is responsible for supporting and enhancing drivetrain and transmission systems in the aftermarket portfolio. This role focuses on validation and qualification of replacement solutions for Aftermarket use. Responsible for customer service in technical assistance and training, warranty management & technical analysis of products.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development and validationResponsible for validation and qualification (PPAP) of new products, relocation and product changes.
Collaborate with Engineering departments, testing, systems and electrical design engineers to define DVP for technical release.
Support in the definition of test procedures and test equipment specifications.
Complete DVP documentation and review supplier PPAP documentation.
Coordination of cost reduction activities
Collaborate with Engineering departments, testing, systems and electrical design engineers to define DVP for technical release.
Support in the definition of test procedures and test equipment specifications.
Responsibility for the product's compliance with the specifications.
Technical SupportSupports Customers, Sales Managers and Customer Service for all technical questions and assistance related to the products.
Provide technical support to Aftermarket suppliers to improve their skills.
Create and provide technical training to customers including failure diagnosis and identification of how fake products can be identified.
Warranty ManagementSingle point of contact for customers regarding complaints and warranties, answering further questions for problem solving / interface to internal and external manufacturers, engineering and customers
Provide technical analysis reports to customers and inform internal departments of the decisions, advising for further actions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or vehicle technology.
Minimum 5 years of experience in drivetrain systems, engine-transmission interfaces, or powertrain components.
Knowledge of gear systems, torque converters, clutches, and lubrication systems
Experience of working within dynamic and change-oriented teams
Experience working in global environment preferred
Good communication skills in writing or speaking with internal departments, customers and suppliers.
English language, written and spoken
Proficient with Microsoft office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP
Willingness to travel
