Dresden Full-time NCT partner site Dresden - Translational Imaging in Oncology “Research for a life without cancer" is our mission at the German Cancer Research Center. We investigate how cancer develops, identify cancer risk factors and look for new cancer prevention strategies. We develop new methods with which tumors can be diagnosed more precisely and cancer patients can be treated more successfully. Every contribution counts – whether in research, administration or infrastructure. This is what makes our daily work so meaningful and exciting.
The National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) is a long-term cooperation between the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), excellent partners in university medicine and other research institutions at six locations in Germany. The goal of the NCT is to bring promising results from cancer research into clinical application quickly and safely. This approach is intended to provide cancer patients with nationwide access to innovative treatment options.
One of the six NCT sites is the NCT Dresden (NCT/UCC), which is a collaboration between the DKFZ, the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden (UCC), the Carl Gustav Carus Medical Faculty of the TU Dresden and the Helmholtz Center Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR).
Starting in January 2026, we are seeking for the Division of Translational Imaging in Oncology at the NCT site in Dresden a
Our division uses imaging to optimize new therapies and investigates new radio-tracers. In close cooperation with the Helmholtz Center Dresden-Rossendorf, preclinical projects for modeling theranostic applications with alpha-emitting nuclides for breast cancer are planned. Therefore, we are seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher with experience in animal models for tumor therapy.
YOUR TASKS
Correlation of positron emission tomography imaging with histological analyses in rodent tumor models for breast cancer
Conducting cell binding studies in vitro and biodistribution studies in vivo with established imaging tracers to quantify molecular targeting
Using carrier molecules (radioligands) coupled to alpha- and beta-emitting radionuclides to investigate therapeutic effects in these models
Compliance with radiation protection and animal welfare regulations and communication with the respective authorities, if necessary, for obtaining relevant approvals
YOUR PROFILE
Master's degree and PhD in biology, biochemistry or a related field
Experience with small animal handling and in vivo experiments
Experience with in vitro experiments and cell culturing
