Postdoctoral researcher position (all genders welcome)

for three years for three years in full-time The salary level is E13 TV-L.


Research at the Institute of Technical Chemistry is directed towards polymers including sustainability aspects. Current research topics comprise polymerizations, polymer recycling, advanced polymer characterization, kinetic Monte Carlo simulations, and the application of Machine Learning methods in cooperation with computer scientist. We are looking for a highly motivated new team member for an interdisciplinary project directed towards closed and defossilized material cycles in polyolefin industry, with special focus on polyethylene, funded by the Volkswagen Stiftung.

Your tasks:

Research in an interdisciplinary project on recycling of polyolefins Kinetic Monte-Carlo simulations of polymerizations Correlation of microstructural information from experiments and modeling with polymer properties Setting-up a reactor concept for preparation of functional polymers with the project partners

Your profile:

PhD in chemistry or engineering related to polymers Interested in modeling of chemical reactions Experiences with C++ and Python are advantageous Strong command of the English language and willingness to learn German Self-motivated person with the ability to perform research in a structured manner

. Remuneration is based on the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L). The TV-L provides a special annual payment at the end of the year. In addition, we offer a separate supplementary pension scheme in the form of a company pension (VBL).
