PROJECT TITLE:

Mechanobiological Regulation of Endothelial Cell Dynamics

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Our lab investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms that govern endothelial cell behavior in response to mechanical stimuli. In this PhD project, we aim to understand how endothelial cells (specifically HUVECs) respond to mechanical forces by modulating their cytoskeleton, adhesion dynamics, and gene expression. Using a combination of microfluidic systems, quantitative live-cell imaging, molecular biology, and immunocytochemistry, we will dissect how cytoskeletal and signaling networks integrate environmental inputs to coordinate vascular function, remodeling, and barrier integrity.

More information about our lab can be found here

REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate with a background in cell biology, or a related life sciences field. Experience in one or more of the following areas is advantageous: + Cell culture work (e.g., plating, transfection, passaging)
+ Quantitative image analysis and microscopy
+ Microfluidic device handling
+ Molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, qPCR, Western blot)
+ Immunocytochemistry
+ Excellent English communication skills and an enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research are essential
