The Department of Ophthalmology is looking for a doctoral student to start as soon as possible, on a fixed-term contract for 3 years with the option of extension.
PhD Position Data Science / Image Analysis (f/m/d)
In ophthalmology, enormous amounts of image data are generated, for which automated image analysis solutions already exist in some cases, while in others, automated analysis solutions still need to be developed.
Your tasks:
===============
Development and implementation of algorithms for analyzing image data, multimodal where necessary
(Co-) development of solutions that bundle various algorithms for image analysis
Close cooperation with ophthalmology researchers/physicians
Regular reporting, data curation, data analysis an quality management
Preparation of scientific publications and validation, collaboration on third-party funding applications
Your skills:
================
Completed degree (diploma, master's) in bioinformatics, computer science, medical technology, image analysis or comparable training
Machine Learning/Computer vision knowledge
In-depth knowledge of scientific operations, including data collection, data management, and statistical analysis methods
Very good written and spoken German and English language skills
Dynamic, highly organized and creative personality, Proactive and independent work manner
