Your tasks and responsibilities
review and commenting on ship designs and specifications
project drawing approval
being up to date in regard to present technical developments at latest shipbuilding technology
judgment of different technical solutions and suppliers in regard to maintenance costs, maintainability, durability, regulatory requirements and usability in daily ships environment
review and comparison of technical agreements before maker selection
liaison with classification societies, flag state administration and regulatory bodies
perform negotiation of specifications, system drawings or 3D reviews at the newbuilding yards in cooperation with the head of department and/or owners’ representatives
attendance at vessels sea trials and major equipment FAT
support and control of the site teams
reporting to the head of newbuilding and projects

Your profile
Preferable qualifications and requirements
completed studies of marine engineering
longstanding work experience in a responsible position as chief or 2nd engineer
preferably experience as newbuilding site team member at a building yard
basic knowledge of business administration (e.g. reporting, budget-planning)
good communication skills with fluency in English and German (preferably)
good negotiation skills and the ability to adopt to different mentalities in the international shipbuilding market
flexibility and willingness to travel internationally
