. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our organization's network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Network Installation & Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network devices (e.g., Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Fortinet, HP Aruba).
Implement and manage various network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, HSRP, VRRP).
Configure and manage VLANs, VPNs (IPsec, SSL), and Quality of Service (QoS) to prioritize critical traffic.
Perform firmware upgrades and patch management on network devices.
Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Proactively monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and diagnose connectivity issues (LAN/WAN, wired/wireless).
Utilize network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, Ping, Traceroute) to analyze traffic, identify anomalies, and resolve issues promptly.
Conduct root cause analysis for network incidents and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Respond to network alerts and troubleshoot complex network problems, escalating to senior engineers when necessary.
Network Security:
Assist in implementing and maintaining network security policies, including firewall rules, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
Configure and manage VPN concentrators to ensure secure remote access.
Stay informed about the latest network security threats and vulnerabilities.
Documentation & Reporting:
Create and maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration documentation, inventory, and troubleshooting procedures.
Generate regular reports on network performance, availability, and security.
Collaboration & Support:
Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., Systems, Security, Applications) to integrate network solutions and resolve cross-functional issues.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding network connectivity and related issues.
Participate in network design discussions and contribute to future network expansion and upgrade projects.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Certifications:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is mandatory.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is highly preferred.
Other relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS) are a plus.
Experience:
Proven hands-on experience (4+ years), in network administration, operations, or engineering.
Demonstrated experience with Cisco routers and switches (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR).
Experience with firewall configuration and management (e.g., Cisco ASA)
Experience with wireless networking technologies.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN concepts, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and switching protocols (STP, HSRP, VRRP).
Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nmap, MRTG).
Familiarity with network security best practices and principles.
Basic understanding of scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network tasks is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
