The Medical Faculty is an integral part of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and collaborates with the Magdeburg University Hospital in research, teaching, and clinical care.



The newly forming research group

“Translational Immunotherapy”

at the Department of Hematology, Oncology and Cell Therapy seeks a highly motivated Technical Assistant (m/f/d).



Our research group develops modern molecular and immunological approaches for identifying, optimizing, and validating TCRs - from basic research to clinical translation.

Your Tasks:





You will take on a key role supporting the experimental and organizational workflows of the research group and actively contribute to establishing new laboratory structures.



Your tasks include in particular:


Laboratory Organization & Quality Management + Organization, structuring, and maintenance of the molecular and cell biology laboratory
+ Responsibility for equipment maintenance, inventory management, and procurement of consumables
+ Ensuring standardized laboratory workflows and quality controls
Experimental Support + Execution and optimization of molecular biology methods (PCR, cloning, vector construction, plasmid preparation)
+ Support in processing clinical and experimental sample material
+ Execution of cell culture work
+ Execution of T cell assays, immunological analyses, and functional test systems
+ Execution of animal experimentation work
Team and Research Support + Training new scientific staff (m/w/d) in laboratory standards
+ Supporting doctoral researchers (m/f/d) and postdocs (m/f/d) in experimental workflows
Documentation tasks (lab books, SOPs)

Your Profile:




Completed training as BTA, CTA, MTA, or VMTA Very good knowledge in at least two of the following areas: + Cell culture
+ Molecular biology (PCR, cloning, plasmid preparation)
+ Immunological methods (flow cytometry, T-cell assays)
+ Animal experimentation
Experience in laboratory organization or quality management is an advantage Careful, structured, and independent working style Enjoyment of working in an interdisciplinary, growing team High motivation to establish new technologies and actively contribute to a modern research environment

Compensation:





You will receive performance-based compensation according to responsibility, qualification, and personal requirements up to pay group E9b under the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states.

Position:





The position is to be filled as of 01.03.2026, full-time, and initially limited until 31.12.2027. The option for extension is available.
