ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing mechanical components for state-of-the-art pressure-tolerant underwater batteries. You’ll work hands-on with challenging deep-sea requirements and collaborate across disciplines to integrate our systems into various subsea vehicles and technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop mechanical and thermal components for underwater battery systems Select materials and manufacturing processes suitable for deep-sea applications Support the transition from prototype to series production Create production drawings, testing instructions, and technical documentation Assist with manufacturing processes, quality checks, and incoming goods inspections Develop tools and fixtures to support battery production Collaborate with electronics, firmware, production, and quality teams Communicate with suppliers to define part specifications and testing procedures Contribute to project coordination, delivery planning, and continuous process improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE



University degree in Mechanical Engineering (focus on lightweight design or structural mechanics preferred) 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in subsea or maritime technology Skilled in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX) Knowledge of materials, manufacturing techniques (CNC, 3D printing), and documentation standards Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and supplier coordination Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., IP ratings, ISO 9001) Fluent in German and English Bonus: Basic knowledge of electrical engineering and PDM systems.
