We are offering a master’s thesis opportunity for a motivated and talented student to explore the potential of replacing a physical sensor in an electromechanical brake control system with an AI-supported model. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the technical feasibility, performance, and safety implications of such a replacement, using real-world data and simulation environments.
YOUR TASKS
Understanding the role and characteristics of the target sensor within the brake control system
Collecting and analyzing sensor data to identify patterns and dependencies.
Designing and training AI models (e.g., regression, neural networks) to replicate sensor behavior
Evaluating model performance under various operating conditions
Assessing the reliability, latency, and safety aspects of the AI-based approach
Documenting findings and providing recommendations for potential integration
YOUR PROFILE
Enrolled in a Master’s program in Computer Science, Physics, or Electrical Engineering
Programming skills in Python and C
Proficient in English and German
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Independent, structured, and reliable working style
