Key responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the further development of a growing service area. You lead and develop a team of project managers and engineers, ensuring the successful execution of complex robotic system projects. From acquiring leads and preparing offers to planning, negotiation, and project delivery, you cover the full lifecycle of customer projects. You will develop the regional service footprint for paint process application and cooperate with service organizations in the region and technology team of the global service organization.


This role is contributing to the Customer Service business Line within the Robotics & Discrete Automation business area in Friedberg. Main stakeholders are customers, the local Robotics management team, as well as global ABB units.


You will be mainly accountable for:

Acquisition, preparation of offers, commercial and technical negotiations, and execution of service projects Full project lifecycle management – from sales lead to planning, procurement, resource allocation, and on-site execution Leading and developing a team of approx. 16 project managers and project engineers across various robotic applications (e.g. painting, handling, welding) Responsibility for profit & loss, budget, cost planning, and performance tracking with implementation of corrective measures Strategic development of the business in line with the Robotics Service strategy and active involvement in the management team

Qualifications for the role

Technical degree or technician qualification combined with several years of professional experience Proven leadership experience with disciplinary responsibility for project managers/engineers Modern leadership style with the ability to empower teams, set boundaries, and manage conflicts constructively Several years of experience in project management, including international projects and crisis management Experience in robotics and system business, ideally with knowledge of robot applications and programming is a plus Strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset, with experience in offering and executing projects in the €50k–5M range Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken Willingness to travel approx. 40%
