\n Avantor is looking for an experienced and dedicated Manager Major Programs to lead our supply chain optimization projects.

• GDP distribution center opened in 2022
• New highly sustainable distribution center in the Nordics opening soon
• Network design, capacity extension, automation or robotics

This role requires strong leadership skills, analysis, communication, and stakeholder engagement to deliver expected results in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Project management of the development and implementation of solutions to support our Global Supply Chain Operations Strategy as well as adjustments in the existing processes including own best practice experiences
• Coordination between European central functions and the respective site logistics teams to support the timely implementation of requirements to achieve the project goals in a best-in-class manner. This includes:

Support in the optimization of material flow
System weak point analysis
Support in the creation of JIRA requests
Identification of problems, challenges and optimization potential in SAP
Support with complex issues and data analysis as well as process definition, implementation, documentation in consultation with the respective departments

• Creation and implementation of project plans and coordination in cross-functional teams
• Consultation with process owners to evaluate and verify performance of new implementations
• Own data collection, modeling, analysis, and process capture, performance analysis, business case calculations, and development of recommendations for continuous improvement and appropriate implementation and presentation to management
• Responsibility for feasibility studies considering service requirements, potentials, and constraints
• Ensuring customer satisfaction

• Ensure expedient and effective organization, management and work distribution of activities belonging to the field
• Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of relevant supply chain processes acquired through several years of work experience and / or business / technical oriented studies with focus on logistics (Bachelor / Diploma / Master)
• Profound knowledge of SAP and QlikView related to logistics processes
• Knowledge of hazardous goods (ADR training) as well as knowledge in quality management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Sound experience in project management
• Economic, entrepreneurial, and strategic skills to advise senior management on complex issues
• Strong communication skills and negotiation skills in German and English to ensure the appropriate transfer of information / communication with employees
• Leadership ability paired with the willingness to work in a team
• Willingness to travel in a global environment, ability to work under pressure and confident demeanor even in critical situations

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT

• Working in home and/or company office on site
• Ability to travel regularly in Europe (car, plane, public transport)
• Relations Internal & External: EU Distribution Team, Finance, Global Supply Chain, Customer Service; Sales; Procurement; Planning; Strategic Sourcing, IT
