As Manager Cable Operations, you will lead specialized teams within TenneT’s Center of Excellence for the onshore and offshore operation of high-voltage cable systems ( 110 kV), tunnel systems, cable monitoring & surveys as well as geoinformation systems. Your teams consist of technical specialists and project managers who provide advanced engineering support as well as hands on project management for maintenance activities and develop conceptual improvements to processes, contracts, and long-term maintenance planning. The teams are part of the Engineering and Service department that act as the central service department for the execution regions. In this leadership role, you ensure technical excellence, standardization, and robust operational performance across our asset portfolio. You empower your teams to deliver safe, reliable, and future-proof operations and maintenance activities while contributing to the successful integration of new assets into service.

Your profile and background

Degree in

Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Geology

or a related technical field.

Proven leadership experience

in managing technical or engineering teams, ideally in an energy, cable, utility, or industrial environment. Strong understanding of

complex technical systems

, ideally including HVDC technology, cable technology, geoinformation systems. Excellent skills in

stakeholder management

, communication, and cross-functional collaboration. Demonstrated ability to

drive change, improve processes

, and introduce structured ways of working. Fluent in English as well as German

This will be our challenge

The Field Operations DC unit executes field operations including maintenance, overhaul, and small projects for offshore and HVDC assets. It manages asset data, documentation, and standardized DC engineering services. The unit plans and oversees operations & maintenance, monitors assets, manages faults, and ensures technical and organizational readiness of new assets. It continuously improves maintenance and logistics strategies and provides detailed engineering expertise to support other execution units.
