Tesla is seeking a Machine Learning Intern to revolutionize our HR operations through cutting-edge generative AI applications. You will be at the forefront of transforming how we attract, develop, and retain top talent by building intelligent systems that enhance every aspect of the employee lifecycle.


Your focus will be on the various aspects of our HR technology stack where you will work independently on strategic projects in addition to urgent, immediate AI implementations. It is an exciting and demanding position that requires you to multitask, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-moving, collaborative environment. You will see your work directly impact thousands of Tesla employees.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with other cross-functional teams such as HR business partners, data engineers and compliance teams to own your solution from start to deployment Design, develop, and deliver new AI-powered software solving real HR business cases with measurable bottom-line impact Rapidly dive into and extend existing software systems, integrating modern LLM capabilities to solve complex business problems Able to communicate and collaborate with domain experts from different disciplines and the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks in parallel Apply software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, CI/CD, and containerization to ML and generative AI pipelines Share knowledge and upskill team members on software engineering and generative AI tools and technologies

What You'll Bring

Software engineering experience with proven ability to deliver production applications both independently and in teams Strong proficiency in modern LLM and web development stacks, including TypeScript, and React, with demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new application stacks to deliver cost-effective solutions In-depth knowledge of modern web application stacks with ability to design scalable systems and troubleshoot issues when they arise, including experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and databases such as PostgreSQL Knowledge of modern large language models with proven experience developing them into scalable business solutions, including evaluation frameworks, monitoring systems, and robust deployment infrastructure Excellent English language proficiency in both written and verbal form, with ability to communicate with stakeholders and deliver multilingual software that works effectively with both languages, with German as a plus Proven history of delivering projects with strong business intuition to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities that drive measurable results
