Objective
To strengthen our European headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, we are seeking an experienced professional who will take on a key role in providing business-oriented legal support across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. This position ensures consistent governance standards, effective contract management, and aligned legal strategies across the region. By partnering closely with cross-functional teams, the Legal Leader Europe safeguards Nemak’s interests, ensures compliance and enables efficient and sustainable business operations across 8 countries in Europe.
Main Responsibilities
Provide strategic legal guidance to the European Purchasing organization on supplier contracts, negotiations, disputes, and commercially relevant decisions across key material and service categories.
Oversee corporate secretarial responsibilities for Nemak’s European entities, ensuring compliant documentation, and effective coordination of shareholder and board activities.
Provide legal support to HSE topics, ensuring awareness with standards and compliance with relevant European environmental, sustainability, zoning, and energy regulations.
Manage and coordinate legal procedures, claims, and litigation in Europe, including the supervision of external counsel and alignment of legal strategies with business priorities.
Represent Nemak before regional governmental agencies and trade associations
Support daily business operations by assessing legal implications of strategic initiatives, conducting investigations, and providing pragmatic, risk-aware legal advice.
Monitor European legal and regulatory developments, evaluate potential risks and opportunities, and ensure proactive alignment across key stakeholders.
Position Requirements
A German law degree or an equivalent legal qualification, combined with a solid understanding of European legal frameworks.
Broad professional experience gained in a legal department or law firm, including exposure to senior legal stakeholders and complex corporate or commercial matters.
Strong expertise in cross-border European corporate and commercial law, compliance, governance, and regulatory topics.
Demonstrated ability to draft, negotiate, and manage contracts and legal disputes effectively.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, combined with a hands-on and business-oriented mindset.
German native speaker. Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
Confident use of MS Office tools.
