Your central role

Provide legal support and governance oversight for our international subsidiaries, including integration of newly acquired entities such as NEXT Insurance Inc. (USA). Advise on cross-border corporate and regulatory matters, including board structures, reserved matters, intercompany agreements and reinsurance-related topics. Implement and develop our group-wide legal and governance standards (e.g. Management View, group policies) in coordination with local legal teams and MRAS Legal (USA). Act as functional (“dotted-line”) manager for selected Heads of Legal in international entities, guiding them on group priorities and governance practices. Collaborate closely with senior management, group functions and the global ERGO Legal Community to ensure consistent legal alignment across jurisdictions.

Your profile

Law degree with international qualification (e.g. JD, LL.B./LL.M., Bar Admission) or fully qualified German lawyer with strong international orientation. Proven experience in corporate governance, insurance/reinsurance regulation, or cross-border regulatory matters within an international environment. Prior in-house experience in a comparable legal or governance role, ideally in a multinational group, is a strong advantage. Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written); additional languages, particularly German, are a plus. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a matrix organisation and across functional reporting lines.
